Penalty & Shooting Games

Penalty shootouts, free kicks, target shooting and goalkeeper duels — everything that ends with a shot.

Shooting is where football arcade games began, and it is still the purest test: one ball, one keeper, one decision. The games in this category are all built around the moment of contact — where you place the ball, how hard you hit it, and whether the keeper reads you.

How to Get Better at Penalty Kick Games

Most people plateau at penalty games for one of four reasons, and all four are fixable in a single session. This is the method: place instead of blast, understand what the keeper is actually doing, break your own patterns, and treat the last kicks as a different problem.

Penalty Games: common questions

What is the best way to score penalties in an arcade game?

Place the ball rather than blast it. In almost every penalty game the keeper's reach is a zone around its body, so a firm shot inside the post beats a hard shot near the middle. Our own Penalty Kick Challenge pays a placement bonus of up to 45 points for exactly this reason.

Why do my shots go over the bar?

Most shooting games map power to height. Past a certain point on the meter, the ball rises faster than it travels and clears the frame. In Penalty Kick Challenge that threshold is marked with a white line at 94% — stopping just short of it is the whole skill.

Do penalty games in a browser model real technique?

Only loosely. They model the decision — placement, power and timing against a reacting keeper. They do not model your standing foot, your run-up or the contact point on the ball, so treat them as decision practice rather than technical practice.

Can I play shooting games on a phone?

Yes. Every shooting game here accepts taps in place of the spacebar, and the aiming games let you tap the exact spot you want to hit.
