Every game has a primary category — the family it belongs to — and appears in any other category it genuinely fits. A shooting game that is also a timed challenge shows up in both, because that is how people look for it. Nothing is listed twice inside the same category.
Difficulty is our own rating and describes margin for error, not control complexity. Football Arcade Difficulty Levels Explained sets out the scale in detail. Session length is measured from pressing start to the game ending by itself; endless games show a range instead.
Every game here was built for this site, which means we can tell you exactly how each one is scored and what its difficulty curve does. Before a game is published it is play-tested on desktop with a keyboard and a mouse, and on a phone with touch input, and it has to be finishable and readable on both. Our editorial policy describes the full process.
